The film focuses on music as a vessel for memories of occupied Warsaw. A musician, playing live, tells a repatriate from England about the realities of the war-torn capital, weaving his stories together with songs. Among them are such pieces as "Warszawianka," "The First Day of September," "Heart in a Backpack," "The Weeping Willows Have Rustled," "Now There Is War," and "The Axe, the Hoe…". Through this musical journey, the film presents Warsaw through the lens of its inhabitants, their memories, and stories, creating a portrait of the occupation reality where sound becomes a form of resistance and survival.
