Director: Marek Koterski
1986
Adam Miauczyński tries to confront his inner demons as well as the reality surrounding him—his wife, child, neighbors, and the absurd situations of everyday life. Koterski masterfully portrays the protagonist's frustration with small, daily occurrences that become sources of immense stress and anxiety. Despite his education, artistic aspirations, and desire to be someone else, Miauczyński remains trapped by his own fears and expectations that continue to limit him. Koterski's film is full of dark humor, blending grotesque situations with the deep drama of the characters, making it one of the most significant portrayals of Polish everyday life and the existential struggles of contemporary man.
