A historical drama that takes the viewer to Września in 1901, when a group of Polish students, resisting Germanization, initiated a school strike. After Polish-language instruction was removed at the school and German became mandatory, the students refused to participate in lessons and prayers conducted in German. Their brave resistance against authority was met with brutal punishment—they were flogged, and their parents were arrested. These events sparked a wave of outrage both domestically and abroad, becoming a symbol of the struggle to preserve national identity and the right to education in one’s mother tongue. The film tells the story of solidarity among the young heroes who faced repression, as well as their families who fought for their children’s future in the face of German oppression.
