Mr. Tomasz, known from Zbigniew Nienacki’s books, is an art enthusiast and an informal detective whose adventures entertain and fascinate young readers. His car—a modest-looking vehicle resembling a hearse—hid a powerful Ferrari engine, capable of reaching 200 km/h, and could, if needed, transform into a watercraft. Three museum curators—Tomasz, the shy Miss Wierzchoń, and the perpetually drowsy Bigos—arrive at a mysterious manor to catalog and secure the collections. Soon, they discover that the manor is full of extraordinary and puzzling events. There are séances, sightings of a sleepwalker wandering on the roof, and in the park, the White Ghost appears accompanied by werewolves. Valuable treasures disappear, and Bigos vanishes under unexplained circumstances. Ultimately, the mysteries are solved: the treasures are found by the former caretaker, and all the “ghosts” were staged by children trying to lure tourists. The manor returns to peace, and Miss Wierzchoń takes up the position of curator.
