A poignant story about a provincial theater whose quiet daily routine is disrupted by the news of a famous director arriving from Warsaw. The troupe is set to perform his production of Wyspiański’s "Liberation" at a regional theater festival. For thirty-year-old Krzysztof, the company’s best actor, the lead role of Konrad becomes a dream opportunity — a chance to finally say something meaningful from the stage. However, it quickly becomes clear that the director offers nothing beyond superficial avant-garde style and cold calculation. Krzysztof rebels against the shallowness of the production but knows that as an actor, he wields no real power. His frustration begins to seep into his personal life. His wife, Anka, an unfulfilled puppet theater actress, increasingly feels their growing distance, her own disappointments, and his mounting tension.
