Michał and Wala spend a weekend in a small-town hotel, where memories from the past begin to resurface—both painful ones and unfulfilled dreams of happiness. The protagonists are unable to open up to each other; their fear of deeper feelings, which they cannot summon, stems from wartime traumas that make it difficult for them to trust another person. Although they cannot fully commit, ultimately the fear of loneliness proves stronger, and their relationship—though devoid of passion—takes on the form of a union of necessity. The film explores the boundaries between loneliness and the need to be with another, revealing how past traumas can shape the future, leaving the characters trapped in a psychological deadlock.
