Brage is a young man who struggled with paralysis in his legs during childhood, but thanks to his mother's support and his own determination, he regains mobility. As an adult, he becomes strong and resilient, living amidst the wild wilderness in a secluded mountain valley. There, he meets Liv, the daughter of a local landowner, and a bond forms between them—a love that faces many obstacles, including the disapproval of Liv’s father and the scheming of Brage’s half-brother Bentein, with whom Brage competes both for the affection of those close to him and for his own ambitions. Certain events lead to tragedy—in the wake of conflict, Brage faces the justice system, and death and betrayal enter his life, putting his character to the test. Despite painful losses, Brage does not give up; he embarks on risky mountain expeditions to find and protect those he loves, even if it means confronting his own destiny. The story is a tale of willpower, loyalty, and individual courage in the face of adverse circumstances, set against the harsh landscapes of the northern mountains, which become almost a living witness to the hero’s struggles. The film is an adaptation of the novel "Kollos" by Norwegian author Finn Alnæs, blending personal drama with a monumental vision of nature.
